BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 22. The Government of Kyrgyzstan has launched an E-commerce Development Programme for 2023-2026 to increase the country’s exports and the competitiveness of its goods, Trend reports citing the International Trade Center (ITC).
Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Economy and Commerce in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Development, the E-commerce Association and other agencies developed this program with the support of the ITC’s Ready4Trade Central Asia project, funded by the EU.
The primary goals of this program will be to create a favorable environment for the development of e-commerce in Kyrgyzstan, which will include:
- improving the legal framework in e-commerce and e-services;
- upgrading financial infrastructure, and electronic payment systems;
- training personnel;
- strengthening companies' online trading skills.
In addition, the program also aims to reduce the costs of e-commerce players, ensure the safety and security of e-commerce activities, attract investments, expand access to financial services, and foster digital entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan.
