BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 16. The share of the industrial sector in Kyrgyzstan's GDP decreased from January through September 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan indicates that the industrial sector accounted for 14.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan's GDP, which is a decrease of 1.6 percentage points compared to the same period in the previous year.
At the same time, the agricultural sector contributed 10.9 percent to the GDP, experiencing a decrease of 1.6 percentage points.
The largest portion of the GDP, approximately 52 percent, came from the service sector, which saw a 0.6 percentage point growth compared to the same period last year.
Kyrgyzstan's GDP reached 808 billion soms ($9 billion) from January through September 2023. This represented a 4.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the total value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan for the period from January through August 2023 amounted to approximately 289 billion soms ($3.2 billion), with a 0.3-percent year-on-year increase.
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan achieved a GDP growth rate of 7 percent, with the total value reaching 919 billion soms ($10 billion).
