BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 10. The amount of cargo being transported by railroad in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 7.253 million tons from January through October 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Kyrgyzstan's National Statistics Committee indicates that the country's total cargo volume for the first ten months of the year decreased by 2.7 percent, reaching 7.456 million tons.
Kyrgyzstan’s rail freight turnover was 851.4 million ton-kilometers, down by 1.9 percent compared to 867.6 million ton-kilometers in the reporting period of 2023.
To note, during the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by all types of transport in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 43.349 million tons. Compared to the same period last year, this indicator increased by 2.4 million tons, or 5.8 percent.
The total freight turnover across all transport types for the reporting period stood at 2.453 billion ton-kilometers in the first ten months, up by 5.5 percent compared to January-October 2023.
