DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 22. Value of Tajikistan's imports via motor transport from Georgia amounted to $20.884 million from January through July 2023, which is three times more than $6.958 million in the corresponding months of 2022, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, imports to Tajikistan from Georgia via rail transport also increased, during the reporting period. Goods worth $994,230 were transported this way, which is 2.4 times more than from January through July 2022 ($405,500).
On the other hand, Tajikistan's imports from Georgia via air transport amounted to $255,150, decreasing by 17.4 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022 ($308,980).
Overall, the trade turnover between Georgia and Tajikistan amounted to $22.170 million in the period from January through July 2023. It is an 81 percent increase compared to the same months in 2022 ($7.863 million).
During this time span, Georgian balance of trade with Tajikistan stood at $22.098 million.
