ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 28. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed various aspects of electronic preliminary information to customs authorities about goods and vehicles, Trend reports.
According to the official source, these issues were discussed at the Turkmen-Uzbek Working Meeting of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side shared the practice of using the preliminary information system, including the application of the International Road Transport Union (TIR-EPD) and the characteristic mistakes of carriers when working with it.
The parties also discussed technical issues related to the processes of information transfer between the customs authorities of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan within the framework of the previously concluded bilateral agreement.
Meanwhile, the protocol on the organization of the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles transported across the customs border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was signed on October 5, 2021.
