Turkmenistan, Germany slightly reduce trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Germany during the period from January to April 2023 reached over 57.51 million euros, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.

These figures indicate a decrease of 13.5 percent compared to the trade turnover in the first four months of the previous year which was 66.52 million euros.

Turkmenistan's exports to Germany from January through April 2023 amounted to almost 872,520 euros, showing a substantial increase of 2.2 times compared to the same months in 2022 when it was 390,070 euros.

On the other hand, Turkmenistan reduced its imports from Germany by 14.3 percent in the first four months of 2023 in comparison to the same period in 2022 (66.13 million euros), resulting in imports amounting to 56.64 million euros.

Notably, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Germany in the entire year of 2022 was 241.3 million euros, which is a significant increase of 32 percent compared to the trade turnover in 2021 which was 182.74 billion euros.

Furthermore, the overall trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the European Union countries during the first four months of 2023 amounted to over 345.67 million euros, indicating a growth of 10.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022 when it was 312.88 million euros.
