Uzbekistan reduced the production of cotton fibre by 0.6 per cent up to 1.095 million tons in 2012 compared to 2011, a source in government circles told Trend today.
Trend reported that Uzbekistan collected 3.35 million tons of raw cotton in 2012 compared to 3.5 million tons a year earlier.
Uzbekistan signed contracts to export 670,000 tons of cotton fibre or 11.7 per cent more than in 2011 at the International Cotton and Textile Fair, held in Tashkent last October.
