TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 30. Uzbekistan has launched a state-of-the-art autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) production plant in the Andijan region to boost the country’s construction industry, the O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari (the association of building materials industry enterprises of Uzbekistan) told Trend.

The new facility aims to meet the growing demand for AAC, a material known for reducing construction costs and improving the quality of buildings.

The plant, set to produce up to 500,000 cubic meters of AAC annually, will be equipped with cutting-edge technology from Germany’s Wehrhahn GmbH. This investment is expected to significantly reduce energy consumption and improve both the speed and quality of construction, with enhanced thermal insulation properties for buildings. Not only will the plant cater to Uzbekistan’s domestic market, but its products will also be exported to neighboring countries like Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Moreover, the project has been made possible through a 10-year loan with a three-year grace period, provided by O‘zsanoatqurilishbank under the Sanoat Ipoteasi program. The total cost of the project is estimated at $20 million.

The plant is expected to create over 200 new jobs, contributing to the local economy. Additionally, the production will rely on nearly 100 percent locally sourced raw materials, including quartz sand, lime, gypsum, and cement, reinforcing Uzbekistan's commitment to using domestic resources in key industrial projects.
