Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister Labid Abawi and Iranian ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danaei-Far discussed Iran's fight against PJAK terrorist group, ISNA reported.
They also focused on Iran's continual attacks on the terrorist cell positions and situation in shared borders of the two countries.
"Labid Abawi in a meeting with Hassan Danaei-Far discussed mutual relations and comments of Iranian officials over demanding compensation for Iran-Iraq war." National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) said on Tuesday.
Two sides emphasized importance of political talks and resolving remaining problems instead of resorting to use of force.
The Iraqi official called on Iran to prepare a proper situation for serious talks between representatives of the two countries over what he called "bombardment of Iraqi lands by Iran."
He added Iraq would not allow its lands be turned into a place for threatening neighbors, though it would not allow breach its independent sovereignty and international borders.
