Iran plans to increase oil output at southern Bahregan oil region by at least 35,000 barrels per day to 175,000 bpd by 2015, the official at Iran Offshore Oilfields Company (IOOC) Roham Qasemi said.
Roham Qasemi told ILNA news agency that the oil region holds around 47 billion barrels if in-situ reserve and some 46 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, of which some 39 billion barrels and 11 trillion cubic feet are recoverable, respectively.
Oil exploration activity in Bahregan district started in mid 1951 and it began crude production in 1962.
