BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. a new-issue Bahar Azadi Coin (minted from 1991 onward) was sold in Iran for 496 million rials (around $1,125), Trend reports.
On October 12, however, the price for this gold coin on the Iranian market was 491 million rials (approximately $1,108).
It’s worth noting that as of May 31, 2024, the Central Bank of Iran adopted a floating exchange rate system, which influences price fluctuations.
An old-style Bahar Azadi gold coin was sold for 435 million rials (about $986).
A half Bahar Azadi coin was priced at 267 million rials (around $605), while a quarter coin was valued at roughly 177 million rials (around $400).
The cost of 1 gram of 18-karat raw gold was 40.9 million rials (around $92.8).
As a reminder, following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Central Bank of Iran began minting the Bahar Azadi gold coin, available for both wholesale and retail. The old-style coins were minted from 1979 to 1991, after which the new-style coins were introduced.
