Raw materials dominate Iran’s export basket

Iran exported some 81.761 million tons of non-oil goods during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Nov. 21, 2016), which is 29 percent more compared with the 8-month period of preceding year said the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Iran's non-oil exports (including condensates) surpassed $28.117 billion during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, indicating a rise by 5.7 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.

Condensates worth $4.519 billion (47 percent increase), liquefied natural gas worth $1.952 billion (9 percent fall), light oils and products (except for gasoline) worth $1.057 billion (165 percent increase), petroleum gases and liquefied gas hydrocarbons worth $960 million (24 percent less year-on-year), liquefied propane worth $763 million (26 percent less), grid polyethylene film worth $604 million (16 percent fall), pistachio worth $604 million(67 percent increase), methanol worth $590 million (2 percent fall), steel and iron products worth $538 million (19 percent fall) and urea worth $530 million(9 percent decrease) topped the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods.

The average price for each ton of Iran's non-oil goods in the mentioned period was around $344, which is 18 percent less than in the previous year.
