Emphasizing that the ongoing projects in Chabahar port should be completed as soon as possible, he said that "According to the instructions issued by the head of the judiciary, any negligence must be reported to the inspection organization."
"Unfortunately, the Makran's opportunities have been lost in recent years, despite the strategic conditions of the region,” Darvishian said referring to the unique investment capacities of the Makran region.
The coasts of Makran or Makuran – as it is pronounced by the local people – is a region comprising about 1,500 km of shoreline along the Sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean, which is stretched from Iran’s Hormozgan, and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces to Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
The strategic port in southeastern Iran is the only ocean port on the Makran coast and it has a special place in the country's economic affairs.
