Georgia, Tbilisi, April 2 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /

The Tbilisi police patrol has today detained five activists from the Georgian President's United National Movement Party.

The party activists told media today that they were detained while writing an announcement on a stone fence regarding the United National Movement Party's mass rally scheduled for April 19 and calling for participation.

The Georgian Interior Ministry said that the arrests were made because the Administrative Code was violated. It is forbidden to damage the facades of office buildings. However, the activists said they wrote only in the places where the logos belonging to the Georgian Dream current ruling coalition were indicated.

Later, all the detainees were released. One of the party activists was fined at 50 lari (about $30).
