U.S. envoy's visit to NW Pakistan postponed

The visit of U.S. special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke to the northwestern Pakistani town of Mingora was postponed Sunday due to bad weather conditions, Xinhua reported.
   Holbrooke, who arrived in Islamabad Saturday night, was scheduled to visit Mingora, the main town in the Swat valley of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province.
   The U.S. envoy planned to get briefing from the military and local officials in Mingora.
   Following his four-day visit to Pakistan, Holbrooke will also visit Afghanistan ahead of the presidential elections there.
   During his stay in Pakistan, Holbrooke will call on Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani and will hold talks with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
   He will also meet other political and military leaders of Pakistan.
