US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton condemned Saturday a massacre in central Syria that killed more than 90 people, including dozens of children, and called for an end to the ongoing violence, dpa reported.
"The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms yesterday's massacre in the Syrian village of Houla," she said in a statement, calling it a "vicious assault" with artillery and tanks on a residential neighbourhood.
She called for the perpetrators to be held accountable and said the US would work with the international community to "intensify our pressure on Assad and his cronies, whose rule by murder and fear must come to an end."
