Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 May /Тrend News corr S. Agayeva/ The report on implementation of the Planning and Analyzing Process program by Azerbaijan was discussed in Brussels. According to the Azerbaijani permanent representation in NATO, the Brussels meeting held in the '26+1' format at the NATO Committee considered the reforms carried out by Azerbaijan in the military and defence field, military construction, as well as Azerbaijan's contributions to international security. |
Azerbaijan has been cooperating with NATO since 1994 within the framework of the Partnership for Peace program and is intensively implementing military reforms to turn to NATO standards.
The foundation for cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO was laid through signing a program-document within the framework of the Partnership for Peace on 4 May 1994. In April 1996, an official document envisaging concrete directions in the cooperation was signed within the framework of the Partnership for Peace. Now, by the program Azerbaijan is fulfilling about 50 tasks.
