Georgian defence minister received Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy Mary Warlick on May 7.
David Sikharulidze and Mary Warlick discussed major directions of bilateral cooperation in defence at the meeting, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
The sides appreciated directions of cooperation coordinated by bilateral consultations (BDC) and Colonels Working Group. They also discussed documents necessary to design at the inter-departmental level within document of national security survey. It dealt with fulfillment of actions within annual NATO plan of actions. The sides discussed participation of Georgian sub-units in operations of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
Minister familiarized U.S Assistant Secretary of Defense with major priority and "Vision of minister 2008". Mary Warlick expressed readiness for assisting in defence reforming.
Georgian deputy minister Georgi Muchaidze, U.S ambassador to Georgia John Taft and acting military attaché, vice-colonel Michael Warhol attended the meeting. .
