Turkey publishes data on cargo shipment via local ports from US

More than 14 million tons of goods from the US were shipped through the ports of Turkey from January through July 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During this period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 507,036 tons of chemicals through domestic ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – over 13.5 million tons, the ministry said.

At the same time, ships flying the US flag delivered 19,067 tons of cargo to Turkish ports, added the ministry.

Reportedly, Turkish ports handled 316,299 tons of transit cargo from the US over the reporting period.

Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
