BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has made new changes to the rules governing social assistance, as another step toward increasing the availability of targeted social assistance to low-income families and improving the mechanism for allocating social assistance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population told Trend.
The ministry noted that the changes aimed at supporting low-income families, if the composition and address of the family receiving social assistance have not changed, or there is a recipient of a pension or survivor's benefit in the family, or a family member with a disability of the I degree, two or more family members with a disability of the II degree, three or more children, financially-the living conditions of the family will not be studied when applying for help again.
In the case of circumstances that could result in the termination and modification of the family's targeted help, social support was suspended and reviewed based on the family's application for the right to receive targeted assistance. The birth or adoption of a child by the family, the death of a family member, conscription or dismissal to the reserve of a family member, the expiration of the period of care by an able-bodied family member for a family member with a disability of the first degree or under the age of 18, or a child under the age of 8 years, and the completion of full-time education of an able-bodied family member under the age of 23 do not result in the suspension of social assistance.
Furthermore, if the assistance was suspended due to a change in the family's income, which resulted in the termination of the provision of targeted assistance and a change in its size, the family's right to receive assistance will be reviewed through the electronic system within 15 days without the need for the family to apply.
