BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. One of the key trends for 2026 will be the implementation of the 'open banking' model, Member of the Management Board and CEO of PASHA Bank Jalal Orujov, Trend reports.

He made the remark today at the IX International Banking Forum held in Baku.

According to him, this process will lead both to enhanced regulatory oversight by the Central Bank and increased transparency in the financial sector.

"The implementation of 'open banking' will bring new challenges to the banking sector. One of the main issues will be how banks integrate this model into their daily operations and develop revenue mechanisms based on it," Orujov said.

The CEO also emphasized that 'open banking' opens long-awaited opportunities for fintech companies. "The key question for the sector is how effectively these opportunities will be used and how quickly new services will be brought to market," he added.
