Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 February /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The recent tragedy cases related to the gas, which took place in Azerbaijan is not linked with the quality of the gas supplied to the subscribers, said the Director General of the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patent, Ramiz Hasanov, during the meeting at Caspian Integration Business Club (CIBC) on 15 February.
"The calorie content of the Azerbaijani gas is satisfactory and its ingredients are good. There are not doubts about the quality of the gas and it is not a reason for the poisoning," he said.
According to the information by Azerigaz JSC, more than 40 gas-related tragedies have been registered in Azerbaijan, and as a result of which 16 people died and 49 got injured. Of the mishappening, six were linked with explosion and 36-gas poisoning.
JSC considers that the reason for the mishappenings is the wrong use of the gas devices and also the ventilation problems in buildings.
With regards to the presence of low-quality gas devices in Azerbaijan market, Hasanov said that currently measures are taken to make clear the Iranian produced stoves, which have been prohibited for sale in Azerbaijan.
"These stoves should have been brought to Azerbaijan via the State Committee because we would have to certify them, but we haven't done that and do not know how they came to Azerbaijan," he said.
The certification by the State Agency is carried out by two ways - through testing and recognizing the certificate produced by the producing country. The stoves made in Iran have been determined as the commodities which are subject to obligatory certification.
"According to our assessments, many such stoves have been sold in Azerbaijan market," Hasanov said.
