Uzbekistan, Tashkent, May 15 / Trend D. Azizov /

Uzbekneftegaz has offered the Sumy Frunze scientific production association to establish a joint venture to produce spare parts for gas compressor stations and units, deputy department head Leonid Naumov told reporters at the Uzbekistan Oil and Gas exhibition.

He said the Uzbek side offered as a production base for a joint venture a number of enterprises, including Bukhara repair-mechanical plant.

Currently, the proposal is being discussed by shareholders of association. Naumov said the proposal is of interest to the enterprise.

In his view, the creation of a joint venture to manufacture spare parts for gas compressor stations and units will allow the Ukrainian company to consolidate in the country a significant market share of the manufacturing equipment.

Frunze scientific production association is one of the largest suppliers of equipment for oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan.

From 1984 to the present time, the Ukrainian company has delivered 133 compressor units and booster compressor stations (CS) at 24 production facilities of Uzbekneftegaz, including stations on the fields of Uchkir, Sharkiy Berdah, South Kemachi, Alan, and others.

At present the company has three projects underway in Uzbekistan - the supply of equipment for the compressor station at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant and Shurtanneftegas and a project on electricity industry.

At the end of last year, Frunze scientific production association signed a contract with the Uzbekenergo State Joint-Stock Company for the construction of compressor station in a project to modernize Navoi TPP.
