Kazakh, Japanese sides swap data on earthquake-resistant construction technology

The delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) paid a working visit to the Kazakh Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture, to participate in the "Earthquake protection and seismic-resistant technologies" conference.

The general director of KazNIISA, Begman Kulbaev informed foreign colleagues about the special program being implemented in Kazakhstan on adjusting buildings to make them more earthquake-resistant, the press service of KazNIISA said in a message.

“Kazakhstan and, in particular, KazNIISA have an extensive experience in earthquake-resistant technology," he said.

Kulbayev also informed the guests about Kazakhstan using European design standards since 2015, which has helped to strengthen the load-bearing structure of the buildings in the country. This, in turn, as he continued, had a positive impact on security and higher quality of overall construction.

The Japanese delegation also prepared reports for the Kazakh experts in the field of vibration tests.

The JICA delegation also visited the "Algabas" district, where the work on leveling of the damaged continues.

The Japanese experts expressed interest in the technology of reinforcing foundations, implemented by the Kazakh counterparts.
