Russian cargo transshipment via Turkish ports exceeds 20 million tons in May

In May 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 20,603,091 tons, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

In May 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Russia by ships flying the Russian flag amounted to 2,630,990 tons, while Russian vessels flying flags of other countries carried 16,728,934 tons.

Meanwhile, Russian vessels flying the Turkish flag accounted for 1,243,167 tons of cargo transshipment in May 2019.

According to the ministry, 885,643 tons of cargo were shipped in transit through Turkey to other countries.

In May 2019, 4,870 ships arrived in Turkish ports, the gross registered tonnage of which amounted to 69.329 million tons.

During the reported month, 1,930 ships flying the Turkish flag and 2,940 ships flying flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports.

The gross registered tonnage of ships arrived at Turkish ports under the Turkish flag in May 2019 amounted to 10.410 million tons, and of ships under flags of other countries equaled to 58.919 million tons.

In January-April 2019, Turkish ports received 21,100 ships, the gross registered tonnage of which amounted to 276.5 million tons.

In January-May 2019, the gross registered tonnage of vessels arrived at Turkish ports under the Turkish flag amounted to 49.1 million tons, while the gross registered tonnage of vessels under flags of other countries equaled to 227.4 million tons.
