A World Bank mission led by project manager, a specialist on land administering, Heiwin Adlington will visit Baku from 2 to 10 October 2006 to carry out preliminary estimation of the project in the establishment of land cadastre in the country. Baku office of the WB told Trend that experts of the bank together with the Azerbaijani government will discuss the components of the future project.
Beneficiaries of the project are the State Service on Register of Ear Estate at the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Committee on Land and Cartography, the State Property Committee and the Justice Ministry. Under the project it is planned to encourage information technologies to ensure high level quality. They consider the necessity for compiling new maps on different fields, where the scale was not recorded.
For the time being there is no agreement on the date of submission of the project to the Board of Directors. Though the WB proposes to submit it for approval in the beginning of 2007, the government voiced its interests in the intensification of the process and its possible approval by the end of 2006.
The cost of the project will be defined after the estimation and clarification of components, which will be included in it. The WB's strategy on partnership with Azerbaijan envisages $30m, which will be allocated by the bank.
