Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 May / Trend / In January-February 2008, USA imported 3.301mln barrels of oil from Azerbaijan, while in the same period of 2007 the country imported 2.677mln barrels, US state-run Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported.
According to EIA, in 2007, USA imported 20.643mln barrels of oil and 9.744mln barrels in 2006 from Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani oil is mainly exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline to Turkey.
Azerbaijani light oil is also exported from the Georgian Supsa port to which it is delivered via the Baku-Supsa pipeline. Presently, the pipeline is being repaired. The oil is also transported from Georgian Batumi port to which it is delivered via railway from Baku, as well as from Novorossiysk port to which it is pumped through Baku-Novorossiysk port.
