Gas sales of KazTransGas Aimak (KTGA) increased by 57 percent and amounted to 7.664 billion cubic meters in 2011, the company said on Tuesday.
Volume of gas transportation amounted to 5.188 billion cubic meters, increase by 10 percent compared to 2010. The length of distribution pipelines of JSC KTGA reached 18.949 thousand kilometers, which is 8.159 thousand kilometers more than in 2010.
This increase was due to the transfer of gas distribution pipelines of municipal property of regional authority to JSC KTGA. Capital expenditures of the company amounted to 7.9 billion tenge ($53.3 million), which is 1.5 times more than in 2010. It includes 5.4 billion tenge ($36.4 million) directed on investment projects.
Annual revenue increase to 83 billion tenge ($560 million), increase by 60 percent compared to 2010. JSC KTGA gasified approximately 230 million homes and apartments for the last period. Thus, during the reporting period the total number of subscribers reached over 687 million (an increase by 4.6 percent).
KTGA was established in April 2002. The sole shareholder is the Kazakh national company KTG. The activity of KTGA aims to transport gas to distribution networks, the organization of the wholesale supply of gas to regional customers and management of infrastructure in the form of gas transmission and distribution assets in the regions of operation. At present JSC KTGA is operating at seven of the nine regions of Kazakhstan gasified - South Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, thus covering 75 percent of the market for natural gas of republic.
