BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. In general, about 50 trillion rials (about $1.2 billion) is planned to spend to increase the electricity generation in Iran’s Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), over the next 4 years (until March 20, 2026), the CEO of Iran's Power Generation, Distribution, and Transmission Company (TAVANIR) Arash Kordi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He made the remark at the event held in Iran’s Khuzestan Province on October 17, 2022.
The CEO noted that 265-megawatt amperes will be added to the electricity generation capacity of Khuzestan Province by next summer (summer 2023).
Kordi added that about 18.5 trillion rials (about $440 million) has been spent on electricity projects in Khuzestan Province during the past 1 year (August 23, 2021 through August 22, 2022).
He also said that daily about 70,000 megawatt-hours of electricity are consumed in the country during the peak time of electricity consumption, of which 12 percent is consumed in Khuzestan Province alone.
