ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 22. Azerbaijan purchased over 30,500 tons of crude oil from Turkmenistan from January through February this year, Trend reports.
According to data from Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee,
the volume of crude oil purchased from Turkmenistan was over four
times lower than in the first two months of 2023, totaling more
than 119,100 tons.
In value terms, Azerbaijan's crude oil purchases from Turkmenistan
from January through February of this year totaled $17.3 million,
which is four times less than the same period in 2023, when it
totaled $75.3 million.
Turkmenistan accounted for 16.4 percent of Azerbaijan's total
volume of crude oil purchases from foreign countries in tonnage,
and 16.3 percent in value terms.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan purchased 551,680 tons of crude oil from Turkmenistan for the whole of 2023, which is 56.4 percent higher than in 2022 (352,715 tons).
The amount of crude oil purchases by Azerbaijan from Turkmenistan in the previous year amounted to $317.54 million, which is 29.5 percent more than in the same period of 2022, when it amounted to $245.14 million.
