Terminals in Azerbaijan were established under concrete projects and for concrete oil volumes. However, at present it is dealt with the transportation of Kazakh oil in big volumes - 25-35 million tons a year, Vagif Aliyev, the head of Foreign Investments Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), told Trend.

Technical capacities of the Azerbaijani infrastructure are limited. It is necessary to establish new system and infrastructure both in the Azerbaijan and Kazakh coast of the Caspian. They can be new terminals, pipelines, pump stations, he noted.

Aliyev said that proposals on the construction of new capacities are part of a new common concept and they are obviously in force. It is still to be mulled whether these projects will be created through the investors efforts or utilization of financial opportunities of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. We are interested to see our organizations and financial opportunities to participate in this infrastructure to have own share in these project in future, he underlined.
