Lending to the construction sector in Azerbaijan increased by 342.7 million manat ($201.5 million) or by 80 percent in August 2021, compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 771.5 million manat ($453.8 million).
Lending to the construction sector amounted to 428.8 million manat ($252.2 million) in August 2020, or 2.9 percent of the total lending to the real sector of the economy, Trend reports, citing statistics from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
In August 2021, short-term loans in this sector amounted to 180.3 million manat ($106 million), of which loans in national currency accounted for 111.4 million manat ($65.5 million), and in foreign currency - 69 million in manat equivalent ($40.5 million).
Long-term loans amounted to 324.9 million manat ($191.1 million), of which loans in national currency accounted for 191.2 million manat ($112.4 million), in foreign currency -133.7 million in manat equivalent ($78.6 million).
The share of the construction sector in lending to the real sector was 5 percent, which is 2.1 percent more than in the same period of 2020.
