ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 21. The government of Kazakhstan will make every effort to achieve economic growth of 6 percent, said Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a speech in parliament, Trend reports.

"The government of Kazakhstan will make every effort to achieve economic growth of 6 percent, despite the difficult geopolitical situation and the current situation with its main trading partners. Today, good growth rates of 8 percent are demonstrated in the construction, transport, and communications sectors. Against the backdrop of large-scale floods, a certain decline in trade was noted. However, today, the growth dynamics in this area are actively recovering," he said.

The Prime Minister also presented specific measures being implemented to achieve economic growth:

- it is planned to introduce at least 18 million square meters of housing in the construction sector;

- new preferential mortgage programs of Otbasy Bank - "Otau" and "Nauryz" - were launched;

- an additional 272 billion tenge (about $590 million) was allocated for the construction of rental housing;
