ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 28. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has a loan portfolio of 23 million euros for projects in Turkmenistan as of July 31, 2024, Trend reports.
The EBRD's portfolio supports 17 projects in the country.
The bank highlighted that 82 percent of the portfolio, or 19 million euros, is allocated to industry, commerce, and agribusiness. A total of 18 percent, equivalent to four million euros, is designated for the financial institutions sector.
In total, the EBRD has invested over 334 billion euros in Turkmenistan across 87 projects.
Additionally, as of July 31, 2024, the volume of operating assets in Turkmenistan reached 18 million euros.
The work of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Turkmenistan is funded by the European Union and the EBRD Shareholder Special Fund. Since launching operations in Turkmenistan in 2008, EBRD has assisted more than 290 enterprises with advisory services, backed by a wide range of donors.
