Total volume of securities in Uzbekistan exceeds 7 trillion soums

As of 1 July 2011, the securities of 1,336 joint-stock companies were listed in the State Central Securities Depository, UzReport writes. Total volume of emissions amounted to 6,616.8 billion securities, and exceeded 7,020.8 trillion soums at the nominal price.

To compare with the beginning of 2011 (1,402 joint-stock companies, 6,598.4 billion securities worth 6,833.7 billion soums), while the number of joint-stock companies decreased, the volumes of emissions increased by 18.4 million shares, or by 187.1 billion soums.

Along with securities in the form of shares of the joint-stock companies, 9.6 million bonds worth 224.2 billion soums emitted by 29 emitters were also taken into consideration (over 9.8 million bonds worth 512.9 billion soums emitted by 31 emitters at the beginning of 2011).

According to the result of the first half of 2011, total turnover of the securities market comprised 322.8 billion soums, out of them transactions worth 83.3 billion soums, or 26% of the total turnover, were held in the formal market.

To be noted, this year the formal exchange market demonstrated the rapid growth. The volume of exchange market 9 times exceeded the volume of the first half of 2010 and 1.6 times - the indexes of the same period of 2009.
