TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 10. Latvian KGS Group is willing to establish an agro-logistics complex in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The issue was discussed at the meeting organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, in conjunction with the Trading House in Riga, with Peteris Kaushelis, Head of KGS Group, as well as Shamsiddin Turdaliyev, Head of the Altaryk district in the Fergana region.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Kadambay Sultanov, and the head of the Uzbek Trading House in Riga, Vladimir Galperin.
During the talks, matters of cooperation and investment between the regions of Uzbekistan and the KGS Group were assessed, particularly in the field of agro-industry.
Kaushelis confirmed the intention of KGS Group to execute an investment project involving the construction of modern agro-industrial complexes in the Altaryk district. This project encompasses a complete cycle of agricultural production adhering to global and European standards.
The project's value exceeds 10 million euros, which will result in the creation of hundreds of job opportunities. The company will utilize its own refrigeration units for the logistics of perishable goods, exporting them to the EU countries.
The meeting also deliberated on organizational and regulatory aspects of project implementation. An agreement was reached about Peteris Kaushelis' planned visit to the Altaryk district in early September.
