TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 2. Uzbekistan exported 308,800 tons of onion for a total of $60.1 million from January through September 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has increased by 19.5 percent compared to the same period last year (258,400 tons in January– September 2023).
At the same time, the volume of onion exports from Uzbekistan has significantly increased to 5,600 tons in September 2024, compared to 4,500 tons in August 2024.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1.4 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $1 billion from January through September 2024. This figure has increased by 7.6 percent compared to the same period last year (1.3 million tons in January– September 2023).
Fruit and vegetable exports accounted for a significant portion of Uzbekistan's overall exports, representing 5.3 percent of the total.
