Chairwoman of the Iranian parliamentary committee on human rights Zohra Elahian has appealed Germany to arrest and extradite PJAK's leader Abdulrahman Haji Ahmadi to Iran or to bring him to trial, IRNA reported on Monday.

Elahian made the remarks in a letter to the German Parliamentary Speaker Norbert Lammert.

Elahian blasted the German authorities for granting citizenship to Haji Ahmadi and some other European countries for supporting the PJAK.

"Some European countries claim that they counter the terrorism while some terrorist groups operate freely in these countries," she said.

PJAK is an offshoot of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which regularly carries out cross-border raids along Iran's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region. It is listed as a terrorist organization by many countries and international bodies.

In February 2009, the U.S. Treasury Department included PJAK into the list of terrorist groups. In addition, financial sanctions were imposed against it
