(IRNA) - The outgoing Omani Ambassador to Tehran Abdullah bin Salem bin al-Shanfari conferred here Wednesday with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on issues of mutual interests, reports Trend.
According to the Foreign Ministry Media Department, at the meeting, Mottaki referred to Al-Shanfari's 10-year diplomatic tenure in Tehran and said that ambassadors play a decisive and constructive role in raising the level of mutual ties.
Mottaki appreciated his efforts as well as effective and positive role in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and expansion of multifaceted ties.
Turning to historical relations between the two nations and their various capacities, the minister hoped for the growing trend of broader cooperation between the two sides within the framework of mutually signed agreements and joint commissions, given their numerous common interests.
The outgoing ambassador pointed to the Iranian nation as one with a great civilization and, while assessing the favorable ties between the two nations and governments as positive, expressed satisfaction with Iran-Oman bonds and its growing trend.
