Turkish ministry issues 9M2020 data on cargo movement via local ports from S.Korea

The volume of transshipment of goods from South Korea across the ports of Turkey exceeded 2.2 million tons in the past nine months of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on Nov.10.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo shipment from South Korea by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 31,236 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 2.2 million tons.

Meanwhile, 36,845 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the South Korean flag, and 378,895 tons were transited via ports of Turkey made up.

The volume of cargo movement through ports of Turkey stood at over 270.5 million tons.

More than 21.7 million tons of cargo were transshipped over the reporting period by ships flying the Turkish flag.

Over the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 10 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 238.7 million tons, the ministry said.

During this period, 54.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 31.1 million tons. In this month, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag exceeded 2.76 million tons.

At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 27.4 million tons.

More than 6.23 million tons of cargo were transited in September 2020 across the Turkish ports.
