ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 5. French company Air Liquide will build a new hydrogen production unit at Kazakhstan's Pavlodar petrochemical plant, Trend reports.
CEO of Air Liquide, François Jackow, and Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas, Askat Hasenov, met in Paris to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the production of industrial gases.
The business meeting pointed out that building a new hydrogen production unit at the Pavlodar Oil Refinery is a feather in the cap of key projects.
The unit, with a capacity of 12,500 cubic meters per hour, will significantly increase the output of light petroleum products and enable the production of winter diesel fuel.
A joint venture between KMG and Air Liquide, "Air Liquide Munai Tech Gases," is implementing the project.
Air Liquide Munai Tech Gases is a joint venture between Air Liquide and KMG, with stakes of 75 percent and 25 percent, respectively. The company was established in 2016.
The French company Air Liquide also proposed advanced solutions for optimizing the operation of plants at the Atyrau and Pavlodar oil refineries, which include improving energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to develop long-term partnerships and accelerate the implementation of the new unit project at the Pavlodar Oil Refinery.
