Turkey is interested in the establishment of a joint chamber of commerce and industry with Uzbekistan, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) told Trend Dec. 27.
TOBB said that Turkey is interested in the development of Uzbekistan and, based on this, the country is ready to support the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
According to the TOBB, the announcement of 2018 as The Year of Entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan can open new opportunities for Uzbekistan and Turkey.
Currently, 479 companies operate with the participation of Turkish capital in Uzbekistan, including 199 joint ventures.
More than 20 enterprises with Turkish investments were created in Uzbekistan only in 2016, and the Ministry for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan registered representative offices of 53 companies from Turkey.
Earlier, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and during the meeting, the two sides discussed the development of bilateral economic relations.
