Georgian Green Resorts company has received an official permission to start the construction of a multifunctional 'green city' in Georgia’s Black Sea resort town of Kobuleti, Trend reports referring to Georgian media.
As reported, this project will bring 500 million lari (about $185.53 million) of European investments to the Georgian region of Adjara.
LAst year, the government of Adjara and Green Resorts signed an investment agreement to build a complex on 180 hectares in Kobuleti in 2019.
The project includes the construction of a golf pitch, a football stadium, tennis courts, swimming pools, recreation zones and bicycle trails.
Besides the sports infrastructure, a new 250-room hotel, shopping center, parking space for 500 cars, food facilities, apartments and villas will also be built.
As reported, 70 percent of the area will be a recreation zone.
Local authorities say that this will be the largest investment ever made in Adjara.
Implementation of the project, which is scheduled to be completed by 2022, will provide jobs for 500 people.
