Trade between Iran and India continues despite coronavirus spread, said the vice president of Iran-India Chamber of Commerce.
Parham Rezaie has discussed the latest trade situation between two countries in an interview with Trend.
"There is no specific problem and trade is ongoing," he said. "There was no problem in Iran and India trade via sea, and the two countries do not have land borders."
"Currently, Iran's major export items to India are petrochemical and chemicals materials as well as agricultural products," Rezaie added.
"Iran has no problem in import either, and the Chamber of Commerce has not received any complaints from the exporters," he said adding that so far, India has not withdrawn demands for Iranian products.
"Apparently, there are precaution protocols to control cargo and ships to prevent the coronavirus spread, but they haven't interrupted the trade," he noted.
"Since India is a country with warm climate and weather, the disease hasn't spread much," the vice president of the chamber of commerce added.
The official noted that air traffic between India and Iran are suspended until early April.
Iran's neighbors have closed borders with the country due to concern over the growing number of people infected by coronavirus in the country.
