Uzbekistan approves feasibility study on transmission line

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has approved the basic parameters of the feasibility study (FS) on the construction of 500 kV line substation Sogdiana-Talimarjan TPP with outdoor switchgear 500kV at Talimarjan TPP worth $188.4 million, a source in Uzbekenergo state joint-stock company told Trend.

According to the document, the construction of 500 kV line substation Sogdiana-Talimarjan TPP in length of 218 km will be implemented in 2011-2015, said the source.
Previously, the project cost was estimated at $152.8 million, its implementation planned to be implemented in 2011-1013, respectively.

The project will be financed through a loan from the World Bank (WB) in amount of $110 million, approved in March this year, and own funds of Uzbekenergo.

Loan funds will be allocated from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development under a guarantee from the Uzbek government for 25 years, including a five-year grace period, at a rate based on LIBOR.
