BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Azerbaijan exported 222,350 tons of petroleum coke worth $57.25 million from January through November 2023, Trend reports via the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
Based on committee data, the volume of petroleum coke exports increased by 46.2 percent (70,260 tons) in the reporting period, while the value decreased by 0.43 percent ($245,990) compared to the same period in 2022 (152,080 tons of petroleum coke worth $57.49 million).
Petroleum coke accounted for 0.18 percent of overall exports in the country.
From January to November 2023, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover fell by 3.84 percent, or $1.8 billion, from $49.2 billion to $47.3 billion.
Exports accounted for $31.5 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $4.8 billion, or 13.27 percent less year-on-year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 66.59 percent, up from 73.83 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports grew by $2.9 billion, or 22.76 percent, in the above-mentioned period, year-on-year, from $12.8 billion to about $15.8 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 33.41 percent, up from 26.17 percent a year earlier.
As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive from January through November 2023, declined by over $7.7 billion, or 33.06 percent, to $15.7 billion from $23.4 billion year-on-year.
