ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 20. Türkiye is actively implementing investment projects in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
According to the Eurasian Development Bank's (EDB) report, the amount of Turkish investment in active projects in Kazakhstan exceeded 2.65 billion at the end of the first half of 2023.
Thus, Turkish investors are currently implementing 49 projects in Kazakhstan.
Türkiye invests in Kazakhstan in the food industry, healthcare, tourism, furniture production, and trade. The largest project is the construction of the Downtown Almaty business center by the Eksen Group, with an investment volume of $335 million (the estimated total investment amount will be $390 million).
At the same time, Kazakhstan's investments in Türkiye amounted to $767 million. The bulk of Kazakh investments in Türkiye are aimed at the construction of the Kaplankaya recreation area by Capital Partners. About $720 million was invested in the project.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Türkiye amounted to $4.4 billion from January through September 2023.
Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan's most important trading, economic, and investment partners. Kazakhstan has more than 3,800 firms (3,835) with Turkish capital participation, ranking second among foreign countries.
