DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 11. A total of 2,900 transactions amounting to 714.86 million tenge ($1.4 million) were sent from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan through the international money transfer system in July 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from Kazakhstan's National Bank reveals that compared to June 2024, the number of transactions decreased by 1.36 percent, while the transaction volume increased by 9 percent.
Tajikistan accounted for 1.4 percent of the total number of transactions and 0.9 percent of the total value sent abroad.
In July 2024, Kazakhstan sent 201,000 transactions totaling 81.9 billion tenge ($171.5 million) through the international money transfer system. Compared to June 2024, the number of transactions increased by 0.3 percent, while the transaction volume grew by 12.2 percent.
The leading destinations for money sent from Kazakhstan are Uzbekistan, accounting for 41.7 percent of the total value; Russia, with a 24.2 percent share; Türkiye, at 14.3 percent; Georgia, with 6.1 percent; and Kyrgyzstan, at 3.9 percent.
