Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has met with the heads of the Indian company "TATA Group" today.
Georgian Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze and Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources Khatuna Gogaladze attended the meeting, the Georgian government said.
The sides discussed the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Acharatskali River. "Tata Group" will invest $ 300 million there. Issues of and opportunities for investing in the construction of other hydropower plants were also discussed.
A group of investors, including IFC, Norwegian company "Clean Energy", is headed by the Tata Power executive director.
"TATA Group" is largest Indian multinational diversified company with headquarters in Mumbai. It was founded in 1868. At present, it includes 100 companies that operate in 80 world countries.
