Arsonists target offices of two former Greek ministers

Authorities in Greece were Tuesday investigating arson attacks on the offices of two former ministers in Athens overnight, DPA reported.

Fire officials said the attackers uses household gas canisters to set fires at the entrances to the offices of conservative former culture minister Fani Palli and former socialist environment minister Vasso Papandreou.

No injuries were reported but the blaze caused massive damage to one of the offices.

Authorities say they suspect leftist underground groups, which have staged multiple attacks across Greece in recent months. The groups have also letter bombs to world leaders in other countries, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
